My work explores the relationship of image and text and how composition plays a large part of the way a viewer will read and interpret my work. I like to use traditional methods such as lino and wood cut printing but I also use digital media like Photoshop to start experimentation work and then make a final finished piece in print form. I feel that using software like Photoshop allows you to see the ideas you have, quickly and still look professional.
I like to illustrate and will almost all of the time use black Indian ink and pastels, I’ve started to adopt a specific style in illustration using simple line and quick strokes to create a free and spur of the moment feel, I’ve been compared to the style of Quintin Blake which makes me very happy.
